BEST STOCKS <$3 – 10 TRADING PLAN IS RUNNING HOT

The Best Stocks <$3 – 10 trading plan in the Trading System Viewer is running hot! Over the last 3 months, this trading plan is up over 17% (as of 24 April 2024). To see this Trading System in VectorVest, click on the Viewers tab, then click on Trading System Viewer and from there you will see the trading plan entitled: Best Stocks <$3 – 10. You can click on the trading plan to see exactly what stocks are currently being held and to see the exact trading rules it applies.

For those of you who have been long-term subscribers, you may recall that this trading plan was initially called The 10 Stock Model Portfolio (having first being introduced in 2017). At the time, we documented the initial building blocks for the development of this trading plan (and created a short video to showcase our initial findings).  Out of interest, the very first blog on how this Portfolio started in 2017 can be found by clicking here.

After the initial blog post, all subscribers feedback was considered, and we tweaked our BackTesting to refine The 10 Stock Model Portfolio. You can click here to see the evolution of the testing and perfecting that took place.

By late 2017, we released The 10 Stock Model Portfolio. In later years, we revised the name to read: Best Stocks <$3 – 10 (to make the name more reflective of what the trading plan was doing). The trading plan is proof, that if you are prepared to put in a bit of time BackTesting, you can develop superb portfolios with VectorVest.

Since late 2017 when we released the 10 Stock Model Portfolio – through to April 2024, the portfolio has returned over 150%.

Looking back at the creation of the trading plan and the optimisation, we have some interesting observations:

  • Apply BackTester to perfect your trading plan.
  • A trading plan that has held up through tough times is a worthy contender.
  • Stick to your trading plan!
  • There will be times of volatility in any trading plan.
  • Risk and money management rules will ensure you do not unravel your capital.
  • If you lose faith in your trading plan, revert to the first bullet point.
