Tuesday: Wall Street wavered but ended modestly higher as Nvidia’s earnings weighed on sentiment. The Dow was flat, and both the S&P500 and Nasdaq rose 0.2%.
Wednesday: Ahead of Nvidia’s earnings, chipmakers struggled, dragging the market down. The Dow lost 0.4%, the S&P500 dropped 0.6%, and the Nasdaq fell 1.1%.
Thursday: Mixed reactions to corporate earnings and anticipation of the PCE release left the market split. The Dow rose 0.6%, while the S&P500 was flat, and the Nasdaq slipped 0.2%.
Friday: Upbeat economic data lifted the market to close the week strong. The Dow increased 0.6%, the S&P500 climbed 1.0%, and the Nasdaq surged 1.1%. Despite a weekly gain for the Dow and S&P500, the Nasdaq ended the week lower. However, all Major Indices closed August with a win.
